Yes all our wedding packages come with a free pre-wedding session. This is a wonderful way to celebrate your engagement and for you to get to know us. You will receive free of charge two 9 x 6 inch prints of your choice. Top of page.
2) Do you ever photograph more than one wedding during a day?
No. We are totally focused on providing you with the best possible wedding photography and service. Top of page.
3) How many photographs will you take?
There is no set number of photographs taken, but it is usual to take around 650 pictures at a wedding. We will take as many images in order to provide you with the widest of choices. By concentrating on capturing the moments with two photographers we are able to provide you with both formal and informal images. Top of page.
4) How will we see our wedding pictures?
We will provide you with a Proofing album to view you wedding images usually when you return from your honeymoon. You will also be able to view your images on our website. Top of page.
5) How will we see our wedding pictures?
This varies according to the package booked and how your day is arranged. It is possible to book us to photograph your complete day from the bride getting ready to the first dance, however depending on the package chosen, an extra fee may apply.
Top of page.
6) What about quality?
Quality is the most important aspect both to you and to us, after all delighted clients recommend us and it is through this avenue of recommendation that most of our business stems. All materials used are of the highest quality. We only use a much respected professional colour lab to produce our prints, these have been rigorously checked for colour and quality there and again by ourselves. Our albums, be it ‘storybook' or ‘traditional', again have been subjected to multi checks to ensure the highest standards are achieved. All this provides our clients with the excellent service they deserve. Top of page.
7) How long will it take for our order to be completed?
Our albums are of the highest quality, and each one is unique to each client. Once you have made your order, your album will be designed and then ordered. Your album should be ready for viewing in around eight weeks. Reprints, canvas or block mounted prints are often available in three to four weeks. It has to be stated this turnaround time can change with the time of year depending on the demands on our professional lab or our Italian album suppliers. Top of page.
8) What pictures will you take?
Our service is fully bespoke. We will provide you with a request sheet which we will ask you to complete, providing us with instructions of the shots you want taken, including your group shots. This helps you and us to determine the style and to highlight key moments for you. It then helps us to plan the photography for the day. In addition to your requests we will also take candid shots throughout the day at other times when not fulfilling your requests. On the day you can still ask for specific images and as long as it's legal, safe and achievable, we will endeavour to satisfy your request. Please note that we cannot guarantee all requests due to factors beyond our control such as venue restrictions, or time constraints placed on us due to the programme of events, however we will do our best to take the pictures you would like. Top of page.
9) How will our friends and guests be able to order their prints?
When you return from your honeymoon we will send you a proofing album for you pass around to your friends and guests to order their prints. Or your friends and guests can access, and order your wedding images, from our website via the Client Area (this area is password protected and you can control who has access to view your images). Please note that no one will be able to view your wedding images on-line until you have viewed the images first. Top of page.
10) What would happen if you could not be present to photograph our wedding?
This has never happened yet, but every bride and groom worries about the possibility of the photographer having an accident or something like that. We belong to a group of photographers who are photographing weddings in the same or similar style as us, in the unlikely event that we couldn't attend; we would contact these and endeavour to find a replacement for you quickly. Having this backup system is most reassuring for our couples. Top of page.
11) We want to spend as much time as we can with our guests, how long will the photography take?
Most of your pictures will be taken as events unfold during the day. The group shots will need to be organized and we aim to spend only a few minutes on each group. After the groups we spend about 20 minutes with the couple away from their guests, we find this yields the best results, and the couple really enjoy their time together. To be fair if you allow 1hour 10 mins minimum dedicated to photography after you have been married and before you start your meal or whatever you have planned, then this suits us. During the build up to your day we will look together at the planning of the day and depending on what you want, then the timings can be changed to accommodate. No two weddings are the same so as long as we work together we achieve our aims. Remember you must factor in time spent travelling between venues and what mode of transport you are going to take. It is better to have slightly longer between end of service and start of next phase, such as wedding breakfast, then be rushed. You do not want to be stressed, so by careful planning we can reduce this factor considerably. Top of page.
12) Can we order prints in frames?
Yes you can order any of your wedding images in a frame. It is also possible to have several images displayed in one frame. We have a good range of frames for you to choose from. Top of page.
13) What would happen if we damaged or dropped our album - could we obtain a replacement?
Yes, all pictures are archived and plans of the album layout are kept. This means that we could reproduce your album at a later date if necessary. The cost of re-producing your album will depend on prices at the time of your request. We recommend that you insure your album on your household insurance so that it is covered in the event of flood or fire or other such event.
Top of page.
14) Can we order parent albums?
Yes parent albums are available. Please ask us for details. Top of page.
15) If we book you, who will photograph us on our wedding day?
If you book HRphotoimages to photograph your wedding then it will be us that photograph your big day. The only exception to this would be circumstances beyond our control, where we would have to use another professional photographer. However to date we have not needed to use anyone else. Top of page.
16) How can we pay?
Payments can be made by cheque or cash. Please make cheques payable to HRphotoimages. Top of page.
17) How can we book our wedding photography with you?

21) Are there any hidden extras, cost wise?
All prices are fully inclusive of photography, VAT at the current rate, album and travel within the Hampshire area. For travel outside the Hampshire area we will charge a mileage rate of 40p a mile. Top of page.
22) How long have you been in the business? Where is your office located?
Wedding photography is our core business and we have been photographing weddings for over ten years. Our business office is located in Fareham in Hampshire. Click here for full contact details. Top of page.
23) Why is there such a price disparity among wedding photographers?
There are a host of reasons why some wedding photographers will charge a lot and some will charge very little for their services. A well-established wedding photographer with a great reputation who has been shooting weddings for a long time can command a higher price, and still might have more business than he or she can handle. There is a misconception that wedding photographers makes a lot of money working only one day a week, but in addition to the actual day of shooting, there is usually at least 25 hours of back end work involved in each wedding. Top of page.
24) What is a proofing Album?
A proofing Album is the first set of photos you see after the wedding! You'll look at all of your proofs to choose the final prints for your album as well as your reprint orders. The proof album remains the property of HRphotoimages and must be returned to us after a period of eight weeks or a pre-arranged timeframe negotiated between HRphotoimages and yourselves. Top of page.
25) What digital manipulation do you perform?
We aim to offer you authentic images that are true to the original moment captured. The beauty and flair of our images are achieved in the way we take the original photo - by using the light, location, pose and composition rather than digital tricks.
We ensure that the digital quality controls of colour balance and tonal range are checked and adjusted to get the most pleasing result. Images may sometimes be ‘tidied' if necessary - which may mean a slight softening of lines or skin blemishes where desirable. Yes we will convert an image to monochrome, or make an image part colour part monochrome, or we might remove an item from an image that is distracting but only if this enhances the overall impact of the image. If you want us to manipulate an image in a specific way that will neither cause upset or embarrassment or break the law, then this can be negotiated with us.
Top of page.
26) Do you carry spare equipment?
Yes, we carry back up cameras and equipment, so that if ever a camera developed a fault we would have a fall back system ready to go. Top of page.
27) Can we have a DVD slideshow?
We can produce a DVD slideshow that plays on your TV or your computer (if your computer has DVD playing software installed). This is included in some packages but can be purchased separately. Top of page.
28) What are the advantages of hiring a professional?
A professional photographer will be timely - arriving at your wedding promptly, and getting the results to you on time. A professional has just the right equipment for photographing your wedding. Having attended many weddings, an experienced wedding photographer will be at ease at your wedding. A professional uses a colour laboratory that is in the business of meeting high professional standards of print quality. And, a professional is used to working with individuals, couples, and groups to make the formal photography go smoothly. When you think about the cost of photography, remember that the photographer's fee is only part of your investment: You, your parents, your extended family and your friends will be investing time with the photographer during your wedding. Don't waste time on your wedding day with a photographer who won't produce results you love! Ric is professionally qualified with a number of professional photographic associations. These are promulgated on the website. Top of page.
29) How many photographers will you use to photograph my wedding?
Two photographers will attend your wedding. One photographer will concentrate on capturing the formal shots and the other photographer will capture the candid shots. This will give you the best range of images of your wedding to choose from. Top of page.
30) Do you have any problems with friends and family using their cameras on the wedding day?
We have no problems with your friends and family photographing you on your wedding day, however we would ask that they allow us to capture each scene first then we will allow them to take their shots. We also insist we are the only professional photographers present at the wedding employed to take images on the day. We will not tolerate a clash with another professional photographer or photographers, as this is unprofessional and impede the coverage and service we provide.
You have entered into a contract with HRphotoimages, not anyone else. Top of page.
31) Can I make copies of the wedding images that you have shot?
No and Yes. The wedding images we shoot belong to us and are protected by copyright. It is illegal to copy these images without our express permission. However it is possible for us to give you permission to copy the photographs for a fee. This is negotiated with us once the reprint and album requirements have been satisfied. The cost of granting reproduction fees is determined by us depending on how much you spend with us and we hold the right to refuse this request. Top of page.
32) Will we get to meet you before the wedding day?
We offer a face-to-face consultation as part of our wedding service - this will take place after you've made a booking and in good time before the Big Day. We also give a free pre-wedding shot so you can get used to being photographed and we all get an opportunity to work together before the wedding day. You can arrange as many meetings as you see fit to ensure you are happy with the planning and execution of the photography, it is your day, we are here to capture it in a way that is pleasing to you.
Top of page.
33) Do you shoot film or digital?
We have been using digital cameras since their introduction and we are very experienced in the way they work. Shooting digitally enables us to work a lot faster and gain a lot more images than would be possible on film. The average wedding would generate between 400 - 600 images for you to choose from. Other benefits include the ability to move amongst your guests unobtrusively and to be more creative with natural light conditions. Top of page.
34) Would you increase the price of the package after we have booked it with you?
No. If you have paid the deposit for the wedding package then the price quoted will be the price you pay, even if the wedding package increases in price in the future. Top of page.
35) I have an embarrassing mark on my arm, can you remove it from the photographs?
Yes. If you give us permission we can remove most embarrassing marks from a photograph. Top of page.
36) Will the photographer use our pictures for advertising themselves, or for other commercial purposes?
Yes and no. Your images may be used to advertise the style of photography that we do, on our website or in print advertising, but no additional commercial use will be made of your images. A release to this effect is signed during the booking, but if you particularly do not want any of your images used for our advertising, please say so. Top of page.
37) Is it possible to have some of my images in black and white or sepia?
Yes. Just let us know the images you would like in black and white or sepia. Top of page.
38) Are you happy to photograph Civil Ceremonies?
Yes. We are happy to photography any event. Our only aim is to capture your special day. Top of page.
39) What if it rains on your wedding day?
No problem. We will have a plan B if the weather turns foul. This is another good reason to choose a professional photographer to shoot your wedding, as we will have discussed this with you and as a result planned for this eventuality. It must be borne in mind that however much planning goes in to the day, the unexpected often occurs, we cannot be responsible for every eventuality but we always try to overcome them. Top of page.
40) Are you available for blessings and christenings?
Yes. We are happy to photography any event. Our only aim is to capture your special day. Top of page.
41) Do you support local wedding businesses?
We always try to promote local businesses associated with the wedding industry and our Links page reflects this.
At HRphotoimages we are always looking for like minded companies to promote, so if you know of one, please ask them to contact us at info@hrphotoimages.com
Top of page.
42) Do you use video?
No we concentrate on stills. However we can recommend a good video company. Please contact us for details. Top of page.
43) How long do you keep our images?
We will keep your images for a period of seven (7) years. You can come back to us as many times as you wish for reprints or to order any of our services. But the charges will be at the current rates, not those stated at the time of the wedding. For example if you were married in 2008 and come to us for a new print in a frame in 2009, you will be charged at 2009 prices. Top of page.
44) If I have a complaint how is this resolved?
If for any reason you are not happy with the service then we will do our upmost to resolve this between ourselves. If however this is not possible then we would go to the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) who manages an arbitration service. We would abide by their decision. If you are still not satisfied with their decision then the only other option is for legal proceedings. Top of page.
45) Are you insured in case anything goes wrong?
Yes we have professional indemnity insurance and public liability Insurance. Top of page.
46) Would HRphotoimages consider photographing a wedding abroad?
Yes we would. The travel and accommodation and other costs would be borne by the client. This would be negotiated on an individual basis. We would need at least six months notice to accommodate your request. Top of page.
47) What is this new craze called "Trash The Dress" all about?
Trash The Dress is a post wedding photo shoot with the aim of creating stunning, unusual and creative photos. It's the brides chance to
trash the wedding dress. Get it dirty. Get it wet. Roll around in the mud. Drench it in the ocean. Totally trash it. Here at HRphotoimages we like to call it Distress The Dress, as you do not need to destroy the wedding dress if you choose not to.
If this sounds like something you would like to know more about then Click here to view our Distress The Dress page.
